I am a strategic advisor with over 20 years’ experience of working globally at Board level with major brands across multiple industries. My area of expertise is in helping businesses create sustainable growth by focusing on strategic transformation – combining the ability to develop long-term strategies with the more practical actions required to deliver change.

 

I am responsible for the development of internationally recognized thought leadership in the discipline of customer-led change that has been proven across a multitude of successful strategy, innovation and transformation programmes.

HOW CAN I HELP:

I work primarily with CEOs and Boards that are looking for a new approach to solving major problems or taking advantage of new opportunities. There are a two ways to engage depending on the needs of the specific business.

 

I often work with senior leadership teams in an advisory role, covering everything from presenting best practice across industries through to defining the problem statements / potential approaches, building a case for change and supporting areas such as high performing team development. These can be one off engagements, or on an ongoing basis but tend to be focused on facilitating, coaching and mentoring.

 

More regularly, I work on a consultative basis where I manage and deliver significant change initiatives covering strategy, innovation and transformation. There are numerous examples of successful programs in the Case Studies section. I can work as part of the internal unit or build a specialist team for a specific initiative / skills required.

 

Due to my background experience within the customer space, I am also often asked to support the development of a roadmap around customer transformation. This usually involves building a customer function within most organisations.

About me

I started my consulting career in the late 1990’s in Boston, MA with a fast-growing strategic consulting firm, Mitchell Madison Group during the height of the dot-com boom. The need for agility and innovation  during this period has always stuck with me.

 

After returning to the UK, I joined a niche consulting firm, CVL, that was focused on eCommerce but had massive ambitions to grow. Over the next six years we quadrupled the size of the business and expanded to become a general consulting firm. As a result we were acquired in 2010 by the Engine Group – an umbrella agency managing a number of brands (above-the-line, direct, PR, etc.)

Over the next three years I focused on proving how the consulting and agency model could work successfully together. The outcome of this was that I left Engine to set up Comotion – a new hybrid agency / consulting offer that focused on helping companies build sustainable growth by putting the customer at the heart of the business.

 

Launching and building this business was a fantastic experience, working with some brilliant brands to make significant differences. We created a sister company in the talent space, were short-listed for numerous awards and successfully sold the company to a US business called Freeman, where I then focused on building the European strategy arm of the firm.

 

My focus now is on using the experience gained over the last 20 years to help other companies build sustainable growth.
